The Edge Brewing Co. experience

My good friend and I went to visit Edge Brewery & Restaurant without knowing anything except they are one of the popular names in the local brewery industry. I have a few compliments and criticisms for Edge Brewing.

The Food
The menu had a large selection of unique selection of delicious sounding options, such as stuffed mushrooms, street tacos, or the peanut butter bacon burger. We enjoyed a plate of the kettle chip nachos. If you're looking for a good, diverse selection of food, Edge is a great place.

The Beer
Given Edge is a brewing company, we mainly visited the brewpub for the beer. Although we both only had one off the list, we were satisfied with our choices. My friend is now a big fan the Habanero Lager. If you're looking for good beer, this place is a fine choice.

The Atmosphere
The atmosphere I enjoy in a brewery can be affected my many factors. It could be the waitstaff, the music, the decor, or even the layout of the taproom itself. Some breweries I've visited primarily serve only beer and have food trucks outside. Others, like 10 Barrel, feature a restaurant and brewery setup.

Edge is similar to 10 Barrel in that sense. In my opinion, the execution of the restaurant style taproom can make or break the experience. The service at Edge was good, but I didn't enjoy the feeling and design of inside the taproom/restaurant. They did not create a unique, authentic brewery experience. I do feel that they are capable of this, but for now, I see Edge Brewing as a nice afternoon but not my favorite.
